Succeed?
There's approximately 284 hours left. I tried to, but I didn't accomplish much. Time to reflect on what I have done the past 20+ hours. Somehow I felt fulfilled, that I have used those time to the fullest. I did my laundry multiple times, and even washed the pillows. Everything seems to be in good working order. I realized I have almost a month left to my room, and nostalgic thoughts began to strike. I better take more photos and appreciate the room from an angle that I have never before. Another accomplishment that I am partially proud of, was the fact that I hardly touched MUD for the past 20+ hours. The only time I went in was to help someone get something.
Also, I did some real exercise, and actually had plans to run. It's well known that MUD also stand for 'multiple undergrad destroyer'. It's all good fun and interesting, but maybe I shouldn't be playing it during term time. If it wasn't for the once in a year event, I doubt I'll make it back. The period when I was active in MUD was really fun, and I didn't regret a single part of it. Do I need to have a CAP of more than 4 to be a successful person? No. Having said that, do I really really really want to achieve a CAP of more than 4 badly? Yes. Why? Because society moulded me so? No. Just because I want to prove that I can do it.
Now that my room seem to be in working order, what is the next step? I went to answer question in the forums. Somehow it gives me a rather fulfilling feeling, to know that I have helped someone. I don't answer question just because I want to show off that I know, but I answer questions to make planet Earth a better place to be. I actually finished everything in my tutorial before going to the tutorial, something of distant memory. Now, if I went late for my tutorial, all my effort would be wasted, so I managed to get myself off the bed on time, but as usual, I forget my time while bathing. Overbathed and was 10 minutes late. All in all, I was just thankful that I had a place to sit in the class. Some of the people later than me have to share seats.
Finally answered a question in front of the class, after multiple tutorials. Next week there isn't going to be a tutorial because it is the Good Friday, and the next Friday after the Good Friday there's going to be a mini-test, not to mention it's Friday the 13th. (13 April 2007, Friday) A little sad that participation marks would be decided from there. 1 hour is not enough for the tutorial anyway. It is hard to explain everything through in 1 hour, but yet, tutorials are 1 hour each. I guess we'll scream if it's more than that, since it's such a chore. I know time is running out, but how can I maximize use of my time? What is essential? What is non-essential. While surfing the Mirdain's website I came across a plan by one of the older retired players. Can't say I agree 100% with it but some food for thought.
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.
-R. Waldo Emer
After the lesson, I went to help Doreen with programming. She really have little idea about programming after almost the whole semester. At least she have a great interest in programming, and would be very happy whenever the program compiles. All hope is not lost and I think she can write great programs. Spent a few hours there but she almost completed her lab. I know that time is running out and I need every hour I can get, but I felt that helping others are more essential than doing well myself. So I tried to have patience. I watched how my CS1101 tutor teach, and was inspired by the ways. Patience is the key, I guess, I didn't understand the whole thing from just reading the book once overnight. It's long hard work and dedication that brought me to whatever place I am today.
After my lesson too, I saw Li Ning. I feel so sad that I cannot help her because she took it last semester and did not do very well. That just reminds me that though time is running out, I still have time. I still have power in my hands to change the outcome, no matter how small. I want to be a true winner.

Time flies - Part 4
Hi people! =) I just woke up. And there's 307 hours left. A reminder to work hard, and don't give up yet. I slept through all my lessons today, and self-declared holiday, but it was the first time I had this much sleep in a long time. I feel good and hope that I'll accomplish much.

Time flies - Part 3
Ever wondered why the last post was left hanging like that? It was because I fell asleep while typing that post halfway. I am a mere mortal. I must have been too tired because of the late sleep and early wake the night before. Well, time to catch up. I have hibernated my MUD characters, I should have more than enough time and energy to catch up. I should start updating my blog more often too, to record my progress. Also, one of these days I must find a nice spot to study that's not my room. Library is a nice one. Other than that I could try the study room downstairs.
I'll say I actually lived these two days with purpose. I managed to finish my Mastering Physics, something that I haven't manage to do before the end of deadline for a while. And to thing last semester I was finishing a week in advance and sending out answers to everyone this just doesn't seem right. Fortunately, this time around the questions are easy and somewhat already learned back in JC and secondary school. Long time never felt like a genius. Also, between last post to this one, played some basketball and finished my Lab 4. Oh no, my CS1101C module is almost coming to an end. Would I survive? Let's try and continue the post from where I left off.
14th March, Wednesday
I learnt a lot of things from online Physics websites. It's funny how it's easier to search for information online and from places like wikipedia than from your very own notes. Sometimes, you just cannot seem to find the information you need in your own set of notes.
15th March, Thursday
Self declared holiday. I know I am horrible. Spent most of the day trying to conquer Lab 3. It was fairly easily conquered, but I spent most of the time trying to figure out how to do it recursively. Having my new found skill, I thought I was immortal, and I think I got distracted by MUD a little. That is probably why I took quite a long time to figure out my lab. In the end, I think I did my lab all the way till 7 in the morning, and still haven't done one last part in the lab. Well, I also self-declared holiday because of one thing, it's the Two Towers Event! It only happens once a year so I couldn't bear to go do anything else. So I played Event for many hours straight. I logged the whole event. Maybe I'll post some fun stuffs from the event soon.
16th March, Friday
Woke up early for tutorial but was almost late because I was too busy trying to log the last part of the event. Horrible me was playing in class too. Ok. I logged the end part of the event too. It was a great class because I knew what the tutor was going to say before he said it. After that, needed some food and rest. Still playing a little MUD after the lesson, because I was addicted to the Event! Anyway, in the end, I did fall asleep. Woke up at night, went down for dinner and got called to play basketball! I wanted too, just that my lab isn't complete yet. Anyway I didn't have the heart to do. Was fidling with it until 10 p.m. when I realized I cannot take it anymore. I must go down and play! I submitted my program, assuming that it has no more error. I played quite well tonight too, using the fruits of a 2 weeks rest. After a long rest and a shower, I resume playing with my favourite module. Alas, I found a fatal mistake. Submission time is already over, I am doomed! Hopefully my lab TA won't find out my error?
17th March, Saturday
Tired tired tired so slept until don't know when. My ankle amazingly felt better after the night's game. Guess I went to play MUD most of the time today. Tried some Mastering Physics, but it was too daunting and in the end I wasted time and still don't know how to do a single part. I think this time round the tiredness was due to too much MUDding instead of too much physical exercise(i.e. basketball)
18th March, Sunday
Almost same as yesterday, except Vino came and visit, so we went to play basketball. He is on holiday so he has a lot of free time. Went to Clementi for dinner too. MUD MUD MUD. And didn't get myself to do Mastering Physics.
19th March, Monday
Woke up for lab, was probably one or two minutes late. If I am able to understand that means the lab isn't difficult. It involved a part of meddling with some software and I am proud to announce that I ended up being the first to print out my result. Learnt some things about the bread board. In the end, we had mini celebrations too because it was the last ever EG1108 lab. Too stressed because the next day there's CN1111 tutorial and MA1506 tutorial. Wanted to do them but don't know how to do a single thing. I don't work so well under stress I guess.
20th March, Tuesday
Woke up late so skipped both tutorials by accident and I felt so much more relieved. Went for my favourite lecture as usual and had a lot of fun. Bah, it's sad, another Tuesday gone, only 3 more left. Finally my brain decided to upgrade itself due to untold amount of stress. For a period of time, I was able to answer a few Mastering Physics question.
21st March, Wednesday
Woe be unto me. I was less than half done for Mastering Physics. This time around the questions are not easy, so I was almost broken. In the end, had to ask for help and only got limited help. I hate this. What happened to the immortal me? When time was near 2 a.m., I just requested answer to the parts I didn't know the answer in order to get marks for parts I have done. Final result:- 80%, and that's the worse ever Mastering Physics score in my record. Before this, I believe my lowest score was 97%. Finally relieved of all stress, and Aik Hoe asked me out for supper. Though I have resetted my bio clock to sleep early the few nights before, decided to go with him since I rarely go with him. Managed to get to West Coast Park McDonalds which is 24 hours. Ate till it was 4 a.m.. Then walked home and by the time I reached it was nearing 5 a.m.. Bathed and slept at 6 a.m..
22nd March, Thursday
Another self-declared holiday. Yay! Go me! Making huge progress on MUD, possibly because of sudden relief of stress. Also found out that I have officially 4 weeks left to my first paper. No time left. Have to get myself psyched up to study everyday, and before the stress get too great until I get on the breakdown mode.
23rd March, Friday
Great as usual. Didn't bring laptop to CS1101C class because Angel needed to use it. In the end, finally the great rest weekend started. Played basketball at night. Played not bad, because of another week of rest. Played with Vino too.
24th March, Saturday
Haven't been playing basketball for a long time before the day before. So after playing so much, automatically I felt like breaking. Didn't feel like doing anything and was in semi resting mode. Fun on MUD. Think that would be the last boot I'll be playing lots, and I really learnt a lot and found a lot of things the last boot. Haven't been so purpose-driven in a long time. I know it's going to boot on Sunday.
25th March, Sunday
Late boot. By the time it was Sunday night, it still haven't booted. Finally found my green metal and crimson steel so there was a lot of satisfaction there. And I am tired, so I have decided to finally keep my promise and start studying. Start to have goals and countdowns and stuff like that so that I'll be pressed to study and yet at the same time I am not too stressed. I believe we have finally reached where the last post began.
Good job to me for catching up with the last post. Things that I have promised to update but yet are still missing is a status report. Well, I am in no mood to make a status report now. Another very important part is a reminder to myself. At last post, I still have 375 hours till my first paper. Now, I have only 324 hours till my first paper. Oh how time passes. To study!

Time flies - Part 2
And I thought I only stopped updating for a few days. It was a total horror to check that last post is actually dated March 08. Well, by the time of last post, I am in trouble again. That just goes to show that I don't perform well under stress anymore. I have to start studying now where the stress is not so felt yet. As usual, I'll be telling you how I wanted to update for the longest time, but am never able to. In fact, it didn't feel like more than two weeks have passed. I felt like mere days, as if yesterday was March the 8th. Well, time flies when you spend your free time MUDding?
Well, you'll probably wonder why and how all of a sudden I manage to start updating. In fact, I hibernated most of my characters over at MUD and left my main character there just so that I can check on the politics and do my duties. Playing my main character is increasingly becoming a chore when people are demanding more and more from me. The past weekend have been a fun weekend on the MUD. Besides, I think I have now rested enough, and if I don't start studying now, I'll never be able to catch up.
Seriously, after getting experience for one semester, I am smarter the next. Guess after a while you get used to it. I now have my own basketball - sleep - study pattern which I could stick to, and results have been better than the semester before. Also I would like to thank someone for making the sacrifice to disturb me less. Another factor why I thought this semester would be better than before was I was actually answering questions in forums. Not to mention also, I only took 5 modules as compared to last sem's 6.
Let's see how much time I have left before doomsday. Been wanting to write a status report for the longest time too, but I guess you know what happened. Should update my progress bar more often, and I'll try to update this near exam period more often. Let's see how many days, or better counted in hours, before doomsday. So I'll finally see my final exam timetable for the first time.
CS1101C Programming Methodology in C Practical Exam - Wednesday 11th April 2007 (Morning) 16 days more
MA1506 Mathematics II - Saturday 21st April 2007 (Morning) 26 days more
EG1108 Electrical Engineering - Monday 23rd April 2007 (Evening)
CS1101C Programming Methodology in C - Tuesday 24th April 2007 (Afternoon)
CN1111 Chemical Engineering Principles - Thursday 26th April 2007 (Evening)
PC1432 Physics II for Engineers - Saturday 28th April 2007 (Morning)
Might as well count down to the hours, to make me appreciate how fast I am losing time and that I have to treasure every hour from now on. Assuming Practical Exam is 10 a.m. in the morning, I have approximately 375 hours more to go. Treasure every hour, it will not wait for you. Time to catch up with everything, so first, I'll post about what happened for the past two weeks as far as I could remember first, then a full status report on what needs to be done.
9th March, Friday
I realized I really break down during stress lately. Instead of working better, I can't think or study at all. Even though I had a good one week to prepare for it, I didn't manage to even get anything into my head. So it's the paper with secondary school knowledge. Fortunately for me, everyone seems to not know the answer. It wasn't tough I guess if you know your stuff, so that just goes to show how much people cared about mid-terms. I have been stressing myself up for nothing, and I also got nothing in the end. Expecting something near zero.
After the paper, had a great chat with Wei Shan. Well, it should be basketball game for me, but I couldn't play because of the injured ankle. So took life a little easy and observed the horizon. A break from my normal routine. Also, had some life directions reconsidered, but am glad to know I am doing the right thing so far. Well, I can't really compare with her since she's been taking 6 modules every semester so far, and is going to take Special Semester. She wants to graduate as soon as possible or rather, get out of this place as soon as possible. For me, I never wanted time to pass so fast. I always wanted time to go slow, so guess I'll stay for the full 4 years. Besides, getting on to the next phase in life always make me think that I am much much much older than the phase before.
Went to watch a little basketball, seems like they are having lots of fun! Was tempted to play at certain occasions but luckily I kept my cool for the greater good of my ankle. Also, after another sad paper would come a burst of guilt to study. In fact, those periods are the best to study so I didn't waste them, and went straight to do some tutorials and study. Somehow I can't get myself to do those modules that I am struggling with. Still proud to announce that I made quite a bit of progress in the only module I am strong at. Got to stop doing that, as of this hour. Time is passing by as we speak.
10th March, Saturday
Someone on the forums asked an interesting question. Somehow, at that point of time, I feel the nag to answer every question possible as quick as possible and also as correct as possible. I ended up spending a lot of time on the forums, answering questions to the best of my abilities. I hope those people whom I answered really understood and got appropriate help from my answers. There is this printf(void) guy who really is now a working professional. Heard that he was from the same batch as my lecturer for part 1 and was a genius during his term in NUS. To a great extent, I appreciate post from him because he always manage to point out how much you don't know. The more you don't know, the more you want to know, and the more you want to know more. At least it was an interesting module concerned. As for the rest, the more I don't know, the more I feel like giving up. I can't do that anymore. Time is ticking away.
You'll probably guessed how I spent the following two days. Yes, answering that question to the best of my ability. Observing patterns, then generating conclusions. Was rather happy that my code for both part is rather beautiful. I realize hard questions always does this on you:- It makes you think all the complicated stuffs, and you go through a complicated but logical and working algorithym, only to simplify and say, "Duh! Why didn't I see this earlier?". Could have saved me hours, but the learning process was priceless I guess.
11th March, Sunday
Slept at 7 a.m. in the morning because that was when I submitted the final answer. In the end couldn't fall asleep until 8 plus. Was awake by 1 anyway. I realized the person have posted the answer to the first part. Well, my answer contain the answer to both first part and second part. Maybe it was not too obvious since we followed different methods and logic. Anyway, "Duh!" strikes again when it could be easily calculated using combinations. Ok, refine answer and used another recursion method. Spent a few hours more. Finally, realizing the final answer is even more "Duh!". The code are beautiful and the question was a competition question where time is inportant. Guess I'll fail the competition, but hey, I earned the learning process. Was actually angry at myself since I spent the whole weekend doing CS1101 again.
12th March, Monday
Free day. Overslept morning lecture then... No lab. But was too stressed trying to do tutorial for the next day. Recently, when I am stressed, I couldn't do anything. So in the end, spent up to 4 am trying but achieved nothing.
13th March, Tuesday
Suddenly felt great great great relief, because I have overslept both the stressful tutorials and I feel good about it. Shall do so more often and save myself the agony. At that moment, I was thinking, why was I so stressed the night before for? Skipped Physics lecture and went for CS1101 lecture. Missed someone. Too bad, another Tuesday gone. Managed Mastering Physics at night. Hey, that's a source of stress too!
14th March, Wednesday
Lab. Didn't have the heart to do since I still haven't finished Mastering Physics. Some questions really require extensive reading. My notes aren't that good, I don't have good reference books but most fortunately, I have the internet. I learnt a lot of things

Time flies
And I thought I had finally chased back up from behind in my blog posting, but alas, I was wrong. Anyway, had good reasons for not blogging, since the last week and this week I have been involved in multiple mid-term tests, and I think the decision to put studies above all else was a right one. I'll see how much I could catch back up. It didn't felt like one week since I last blogged. Much less, but oh how time flies when you're in university. The sad truth, I am 4 weeks away from my lab practical exam and 6 weeks away from written paper exams. Well, it just never ends but that's not the saddest part. The saddest part is that my university Year 1 is going to end in about 6 weeks, and I thought it was yesterday when we just started?
27th February, Tuesday
I woke up and was just a little late for my CN1111 lecture. Went for the CN1111 tutorial without doing the tutorial as usual. The night before I was extremely devastated by the poor test and couldn't be bothered to do anything. Oops! Bad. That's because the tutor for this part of the course had changed and not only that, he checks everyone's work before he start the tutorial lesson. Oh no, I don't have anything for him to check. Tuesdays become a chore, because I am too ashamed to meet both my Chem tutor and my Maths tutor. Ok, so in the end I managed to get out of that. I actually wonder how many marks am I going to get for tutorial participation. Next, after an hour of idling, is Maths tutorial. Oh no, my tutor found out I got 1/10 and smacked my head a few times. Tried to explain to me how to do the questions but then I am too dumb-founded, because of lack of Maths practice for an untold long amount of time.
Ouch, how am I going to go for Maths tutorials from now on? I have to catch up. That's still not the worse part. I walk around Engine near the next lecture and everywhere I hear people comparing what they have got for Maths. One guy got 10/10 and was saying he didn't even study, spent the whole holidays slacking and playing some new game. I hate to admit I am currently extremely far from that level. After a while, I have to conclude that the lowest I ever heard anyone was getting was 6/10. I am like at the other end of the world. Or fresh from another planet. I felt sooooo stupid. Well, that's a bad start to the mid-terms.
As usual, tried to do the lab before the next morning so that I don't have to be physically at the lab. I tried at first and wonder why my program doesn't work or work in an awkward inefficient manner. Luckily I didn't try to salvage the sinking ship program, as I know most of the time you made a very stupid silly small tiny weenie little mistake that can cause your whole program to not run correctly. Rather than trying to look through the whole program and having a thousand and one debug lines, I have chosen to start over, and hope that I won't make the mistake again. This time it's fruitful, I churned out the whole program and got it working in like less than an hour. That includes beautifying the program as well. Seriously, suddenly the lab didn't felt like it was that hard. Was going to do Mastering Physics but my brain told me it's sleepy. I couldn't concentrate to calculate for Mastering Physics and hence I went to bed instead.
28th February, Wednesday
Woke up late, and hence didn't go for morning lecture and also the computing lab. That leaves me with only one EG1108 tutorial in the evening. I am really enjoying myself this semester. So slack actually. If only I could use all my slack time into studying. Well, tried some Mastering Physics questions, stumbled. Only managed to answer very little questions. Guess I am not trying hard enough. I felt that I could understand EG1108 during most of the tutorials but as I missed a few lectures here and there, I am missing some concepts. Blah, no time to worry about this yet, the CN1111 test is drawing nearer, and I swear I am more hopeless for this because I skipped more lectures+tutorials for CN1111. At the end of my EG1108 tutorial, Wei Shan told me Chem is so hard! Oh no, Wei Shan = very intelligent girl, and hence Chem is hard = Chem is very very hard. Alamak, still determined to get as good grade as possible even though I dug a grave. It isn't as deep as last sem. =)
Finished Mastering Physics at night. Suddenly, the brain works very well as the deadline draws nearer and nearer to the end. I wonder what effect is this, but this is not a good sign. It just meant that I have did too many last second work and is becoming good at it. Didn't have enough time to share my answers. I remember last semester I was more hardworking for Physics. I always finish a week in advance! Oh no, Pei Hua couldn't access her Mastering Physics when it's less than an hour to deadline. I know bad things always happens. Had Indo Mie at 1 am for dinner.
1st March, Thursday
Oh great, it's Thursday. Studied up to 4 am the night before, but am hardly halfway through. Slept and then guess what time I finally woke up? I woke up at 11 am. That's extremely extremely bad, and therefore I just flipped quick through my notes and copied all the formulas down. Wikipedia is wicked. I felt that I understand more in shorter amount of time using it. I learnt a few important concepts from there last second. I really couldn't finish, and in my mind I had this strange urge to do well, most probably because of the extreme failure of Maths. I didn't finish, and at that point of time, I almost wanted to cry, because I think that another paper had fallen into the drain. Studied up to really no more time left and then rushed to the examination venue. Was late. It was 1.01 pm when I reached there, but the paper have yet to start. Seems like it's another good luck day, Wei Shan sits in front of me and Soo Yein sits behind me.
Sure is, personally I thought the paper was quite easy, for a person who have hardly studied. I may have dropped easy marks here and there but I think I can safely pass. After the short paper, I hear groaning everywhere that the paper was hard. Better for me, since it would put me in a better position against the rest. That was a great boost for my confidence. Went back and started doing Mastering Physics practice questions. Though I took quite long to figure out most, I am thankful that in the end I figured out most of it. I can't be that bad at Physics, since I have been diligently doing my work. In the end, I had to give up at around 3 a.m., because I was too sleepy to continue.
2nd March, Friday
Surprise, surprise, I overslept my CS1101C tutorial, but managed to rush there when there's 30 minutes left. Anyway, most people were asking about past year questions, which was good for me. Mai was so nice she taught me Physics, and how to do the few Mastering Physics questions, and it all seemed so easy somehow afterwards. In exchange, I showed her my code and tried to understand her code for the Odd Week Lab 2. Both works, but hers need a little tweaking to work correctly. Yup, confidence again. Still tired and I know I cannot do Physics that way.
Slept till 5 and now it's dangerous again. Bah, why do I always do this kind of thing? Immediately requested answers for the rest of the Mastering Physics questions that I didn't do. Also tried to look at past year paper but didn't attempt. Mastering Physics was already mind boggling enough to understand. And so like the day before, studied until there was no time left and almost going to be late. Reached the bus stop at 6.30 pm, which was still early. Oh no, there was no bus until 6.50 pm and now we're late. Luckily we're not the only ones. There was a busload of people who were late with us. Still the bus driver took his own sweet time, and it was A2 so after it passed the Central Library, everyone just ran out of the bus and towards MPSH1. In the end we were all 10 minutes late. No worries, we have more time than enough.
It seemed easy somehow. I had extra time and time to check. I don't know how to do all questions, but I think I would at least be able to get a good pass. How good it depends on luck. Was quite happy after the paper. Compared answers with Cham Nap and we had almost same answers for every question. Too excited, so I couldn't study for the next paper. The next paper is CS1101C in the morning, but not that early in the morning. By the time I finished my dinner after my Physics paper it was 10+, and I need all the time I can get to study for the next one. Unfortunately, my mind was still excited with Physics, so I couldn't study.
Was just browsing through the CS1101C forums and couldn't summon the strength to actually connect my SSH and start programming. In the end, when I finally started, it was around 2 am. Blah, tried one past year paper and got 11/26. I know I am sleepy and hence cannot do well at these papers requiring high degree of concentration. I went to sleep.
3rd March, Saturday
I woke up almost late for the paper. No time to even look through the forum and notes. Luckily it's open-book. Why do I always do this kind of things? I reach there like just nice, 10 minutes early. In my mind I gave myself a very high level of confidence. Hey, I can't be that bad at programming right? Besides, I just gave very good code (in my personal opinion) for my first 2 labs. I even told myself I'll jump off the building if I don't get full marks. But the 11/26 from the night before sort of shook my confidence a little. No worries, I'll just heighten my awareness to get it all back. The cheerleading people was practicing in front of MPSH1 and I saw Wei Ling, Regina's friend from Chestnut Drive Secondary. The last time I saw her was like before uni starts, where she was working in Orchard. Also saw Li Ning, and felt sorry for her, since she told me she didn't do too well for her CS1101 last sem. She had just came out from her CS1102 test then, and I hope all would be well for her!
The paper was once again easy. I had lots and lots of free time. It's just 20 MCQs and I breezed through the first many questions. Then it start to require some concentration to beat the tricks of the examiners. The first few was good. The last few require extensive tracing. I did the last question first and I know full well the answer! =) After the paper, I even explained some of the questions to my friends. Luckily the questions which I explained are the ones which I got correct, as I found out after, I didn't get full marks.
The answers were uploaded right after the paper. I didn't felt like checking, since that would spoil my good mood, thinking that I had scored full marks. Well, then I saw a question on the forum about the paper. My natural reaction was to help, but it made me realize that I had just made a mistake. Ok, one mistake, big deal. I'll still get 25! I think I was a little afraid of checking the answers. What if I didn't get full marks? Do I really jump off the building? Since SSH was already started, I started checking them. Blah. Terrible blow. 18/26. I really want to jump off the building. But hey, it's our 2 years together anniversary. It was smooth so far. And I had a nice day. Ate at Sumo House in Clementi for dinner. I remember once I went to Bedok with Chong-U and he told me he like the Sumo House there.
Went to Jurong Point in a hurry, and still managed to find a decent vacuum cleaner. Yay, that would be fun. I really fell in love with it after going home. Didn't manage to get the last thing on my shopping list. I am really wantless after that thing. It's the ironing board. I have enough of everything. Come to think of it, I need pens and pencil leads too, since they are running out. Happy day!
4th March, Sunday
Woke up late for the match against NTU. Ouch, I want to play! Blah I found out later that it was cancelled because NTU couldn't find anyone to play for their team. Didn't feel so bad oversleeping afterwards. So I went back to sleep. Woke up somewhere in the late afternoon, finally getting rest after a hectic week. Ate two helping of food, which was no good for playing basketball. Didn't occur to my mind that I should go and play. Oh well, I saw a great game and went down to chat a while. Went to play shortly afterwards, but didn't pick up momentum. Kept on missing and getting owned. Well, too heavy, too much food, and too long no play. Anyway, as the night progressed on, I played better and better. Luckily it wasn't a bad night all night long!
When we're finally winning like mad, I twisted my ankle bad. It was so painful I couldn't move. Luckily there was someone there from the Medicine school. I managed to limp my way back to my room. Had 3 point shootouts with an injured right leg. It was quite painful to even walk and it feels like it's going to collapse. What an irony. I just saw a girl with and injured leg a few days ago and wanted to go and help her but in the end I didn't because I was too shy. Guess this is retribution. Managed to score 6 out of 30 balls. The other two shooters got 12 out of 30 balls and 9 out of 30 balls respectively. Hehe, I was lucky in scoring the 6 balls anyway.
5th March, Monday
Woke up and it aches like mad. Was thinking how can I ever go to school? Managed to bath and brush standing on the other leg. Decided to go and see a doctor, and see that if it's really free! At first it was really awkward walking, but after a while the pain seems to have subsided. I think it's because I was getting used to the pain, or after a while I managed to find a method that would produce the least pain while walking. Went to UHWC for the first time. They even have free massage chair there. It isn't such a bad place after all. However, it took quite long before I actually got to see my doctor. They needed to update my weight. Oh no, it's 69.6 kg. Far from 65 which I was back in JC. I haven't been running as regularly as back then. I realized running really made me mentally tired, unable to focus on studying. Resting would then be a good thing for studies, so I guess I'll try and get fit during the holidays.
Got the same doctor for my medical checkup. Not at all that bad, I didn't need crutches. After that had to run for bus. It was really painful to run but after the run, seems like the pain isn't so great. Getting used to the pain I presume. Went to my Maths Lab like 10 minutes late and found out that it was really nothing much. Lucky. Unfortunately though, CS1101C results was out. I still thought I got 18/26 until I checked. 2 more careless mistakes. 16/26. Now I really felt like jumping off the building, but my leg aches so much I could jump. Michael beat me 17/26. I am such a noob.
Forgot what I did in the night. I remember I was trying so hard to do the Chemistry and Maths tutorial until I was so stressed. In the end didn't even managed to do. I think it's because of the tiredness that I inherited from playing on Sunday night. So from now on I shall limit playing basketball to Friday and Saturday! Anyway, in the end, slept at 4 am, but still yet to finish both tutorials. I am so screwed.
6th March, Tuesday
Overslept both tutorials. Suddenly I felt so relieved. Why did I stress myself with doing them all. Oversleeping them both was a good thing. I felt much better right after. Went for lecture later but was a little distracted by my own laptop. Only followed part of the lecture. Well, at night tried to do a little of Mastering Physics. Decided to finally don't care about CS1101 lab. Anyway, most people don't care about this week's lab since there was mid-term tests. In the end, didn't do much. Wanted to start studying EG1108, but made very little progress. In the end, just cleaned my room nicely, with the vacuum cleaner. Wonders of technology really.
It's quite a special day. It's my dad's birthday, and he's finally turning the big 4! It's Wei Shan's birthday too, so I assume she's turning the big 2! Now I'll always remember her birthday, because it's the same as my dad's! She's exactly half my father's age!
7th March, Wednesday
Skipped morning lecture as usual. Other times were devoted to trying to do Mastering Physics and also study for EG1108. However, realized that the deadline for Mastering Physics have been pushed a week away, hence no doing it until after my test. Felt that I understand the tutorials and there's lots for me to learn. In the end, didn't manage to study a lot. Only managed to do a few tutorials questions of the things I already know. Didn't qualify as a lot. Highlight of the day, there's a pretty girl that live in the same block as me that have the same phone and the same ringtone as me. When she entered the lift and her phone rang, I thought my phone rang.
8th March, Thursday
I am getting more and more horrible day by day. Skipped everything. No mood. Tried to do as much studying as possible but in the end still achieved very little. Hopefully, now that I know that time is running out, that I will start to rush all the way until the paper tomorrow. I am horrible horrible horrible. Hopefully too, this post will push me to do well for tomorrow's paper. Think I should sleep soon, I don't have much time left until the paper. I seems like I have done nothing much for this week, except excessive sleeping and debugging a few of other's program on the CS1101 forum. Is there really nothing interesting this week? We'll see how tomorrow!
