Noob

The highlight of the moment:- I know I noobed up yet another test again.

Somehow, I don't know why, my thinking mind comes awake when everyone has slept. For some reason, some people cannot be convinced when I seriously mean I don't want to be disturbed at some point of time. Now that I am awake, it's now time for me to go sleep again. I have to wake up at 7 a.m. later.

Determined not to repeat mistakes from last sem, I have decided not to do my tutorials until 7 a.m., and going to class super tired. I am going to sleep, and go to class empty handed and trying to figure out what happened. Anyway, I am getting more and more convinced that I have dug myself too deep a hole for Maths. The situation just now was the same as I was during the end of semester exam last semester.

I know how to do the practice question, but due to lack of practice, I fumble during the paper. Knowing well that I only know how to do question 1 of all the papers. Last semester, at least I still have some luck with shooting, I passed the mid-terms. I just checked my score against the answer just now, and guess what, it's 1/10. Just as I thought. Had a few close calls, and I even fumbled 2 50-50 question. Well, almost right is not good enough for Maths.

Well, I couldn't fall asleep last night. I think it was because I was blogging, and the matters I blogged about kept reaapearing in my mind. Another evil, sometimes all I have in my mind is how to improve myself on MUD. Looking good just isn't good enough. I don't know all things, but I strive to. Wish I had that kind of motivation when it comes to Maths.

Next up:
CN1111 Principles of Chemical Engineering, Thursday, March 1st from 1 p.m. to 3p.m., MPSH1 closed book

Gotta flunk this one too. Read:- I have less than 2 days left to prepare, and I didn't have enough sleep today. I have a lab to complete by Wednesday and another 3 tutorials to finish by Wednesday. The only time I can get to study is Wednesday night, which I should be doing my Mastering Physics tutorial. (The deadline's 2 a.m. on March 1st.)

Next next next up:
PC1432 Physics II, Friday, March 2nd from 7 p.m. to 8p.m., MPSH1 closed book

Hooray to 20 MCQs. No time to study as well, since I would be ultra-super tired from Thursday's paper.

Next next next next up:
CS1101C Programming in C, Saturday, March 3rd from 11 a..m. to 12 p.m., MPSH1 closed book

Seriously, I'll jump off the building if I don't get full marks for this one. My last vestiges of sanity, hope and confidence.

Next next next next next up:
EG1108 Electrical Engineering, Friday, March 9th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., MPSH1 closed book

Don't know the current status yet.

Anyway, just checked my lab marks. At this point of time, I am at a crossroad that I have met a lot of times. Should I do my tutorials from now until school starts and repeat all the mistakes that I have made last semester? Or should I sleep and wake up and struggle again?

Anyway, back to what happened today. I went to bed at around 3 a.m. and was still awake till 5 plus in the morning. Luckily I finally managed to fall asleep. Woke up at 7 a.m. but of course I was too tired. I am no machine. Even though I spent my Chinese New Year break sleeping and excess of 12 hours daily, that may only recharge me for a while. I decided to continue sleeping until 10, and then do further studies for Maths. Set my alarm clock to 12 o' clock for safety reasons.

Woke up finally at 12 p.m. due to the alarm clock. Glad that I set it to 12 p.m., or else I wouldn't know what would happen. Bounced up from my bed, brushed, bathed and decided I should go to Forum and get my Lab Report Book and also print out the lab manual. However, as I was tired and not energetic as the day before due to lack of sleep, I overspent time bathing. Bathing is a time when my brain just switches off too, so guess my brain was yearning for some more sleep.

When I reached Forum it was already 1.45p.m., it's 15 minutes more to my lab which is near E4. I decided printing the lab manual might not be wise, as it is more important to be punctual than to actually have a lab manual. The first few minutes is actually the most important part of any lab. Decided I should at least have the Lap Report Book, so I walked into the Forum Coop, searched high and low for it. In the end I didn't manage to find it, but I luckily I saw Pei Xian on the way out. I was thinking maybe it would only be available in the Science Coop, so figured I should ask someone from Science. She told me the Forum Coop does sell, and the foolscap pad with one side lines and the other side graph paper that I have been so happily calling the Lap Report Book, is named the Science Practical Book. Glad I found it in the end, but I was too rushed, I didn'e even have time to say a formal thank you.

Ran as fast as I could to my lab venue, and was a little lost. Think I wasn't that late, and they had just started to explain the thing. Hey, it's something I understand, so lab today was not that bad. Well, maybe the electrical connections part of my brain got hay-wired a little. I wired everything correct, but in the opposite direction. I'll try to get it into my brain that the positive terminal of the voltmeter goes to the positive terminal and the negative terminal of the voltmeter goes to the negative. Well, my logic is that since the positive terminal of a battery connects to the negative terminal of another battery, I just connected all my stuff from positive to negative and positive to negative. I totally forgot somethings are labelled positive because it's meant to be connected to the positive terminal. Way to go, more practice for me.

It was a pair work, so it didn't matter if I didn't have the lab manual. Only unfortunate thing is that as usual I am slow with drawing graphs. I was actually the last one to finish my lab report and it wasn't a very pretty report. My lab partner told me to go and have a look at the practice test for Maths and it would be very useful later. I told him I couldn't even do the tutorial questions, how am I going to do the practice paper? I went back later and took a look. It's so easy. Somehow I got assured again that I may end up tops for Maths. Anyway, lab was a little scary with so many motors going at extremely high speeds.

Went for a Ramly Burger in which I accidentally cut a super long queue. So I hope they don't recognize me. You see, I thought the other end of the queue was the start, so I stood around for a while. The person came and ask me what I want so I told her I wanted a burger of course. Suddenly everyone looked at me, and I quickly realized something is wrong. Blah. I apologize for causing everyone that was there delays in getting their foods.

After dinner was the test. Demoralized after the test. Didn't feel like doing anything. Wanted to play for a while. You see, I am already a very good boy this week. Little basketball (getting fat) and little MUD (getting rusty). Blah. Let's just hope tomorrow would be better. Now at 4 a.m., I am feeling a little tired, and so I have decided to sleep and wake up later at 7a.m.. I feel ashamed to meet my classmates tomorrow to tell them that I got 1/10 for my Maths test. What should I do?

One night

Finally updating my blog? No, I have been trying to update a few times already, but hmmm, the weight and difficulty of trying to recall clearly things that are more than 2 months old beat me at times. Furthermore, accidentally deleting my blog posts arent's helping either. So here, again, an apology and just to tell everyone that I am indeed updating my blog, just that it might take some time before I managed to recount what happened in the past 2 months.

So where have I been for the past two months? Hard work on MUD in Sem 1 payed off. Played less in Sem 2 and still topping my guild's donation list. Time to take a break from that place, now that the playerbase is split. Hard to find a contender that would be willing to take me off my top spot. Besides, I am finally motivated to do well for my sem 2 mid term tests. What might have fueled me to work this hard like I have never before, you may ask. It's mostly due to the extreme failure that I have commited in Sem 1. All in not lost though. My current CAP:- 2.35. Yes. Don't blink. I am going to correct that!

Interested in some stats? At least I'll post some to prove that I was not just missing in action or dead.

MUD Character 1
Guild - 310k Bank - 60k (Well, gold in guild are as good as lost, since they are unwithdrawable, but I managed to stay on top with that amount. Dedication is measured by amount of gold deposited? Something that I do not agree with, but that's how some things work at the moment.)
MUD Character 2
Bank - 240k
Lectures missed - Can't count them anymore, but promise it's much less that last sem. I attended all lectures for at least 2 modules to date. That's an achievement compared to last sem. Managed to get up at 7 am for a lot of time, but hopefully it's going to be a habit.
Tutorials missed - 2
Full status report might be up soon.
